Prevent "congratulations" after publishing post

  • Unknown's avatar

I strongly prefer using the classic editor in WP Admin to write my posts. However, every time I publish a new post, I am sent to the “congratulations, you have published X# of posts” page, and cannot simply return to the editor to make changes if they are needed. I would prefer to remain in the editor and view the finished product in a new tab, or at least simply be sent to the post so I can click “edit” and return to the classic WP Admin page editor.

Please tell me there is a preferences setting somewhere to turn off that “congratulations” page. Thanks.

It should be able to be disabled – but forget how I turned it off – so I have flagged this for the staff – hopefully one of their “enhancements” is not bringing back that real annoying feature for everyone

Thank you so much. I do hope it can be turned off; it’s kind of annoying. :-)

The “WooHoo! You’ve Published your XX Post!” Nanny can be turned off here:
https://wordpress.com/me/account at the bottom of the page where it says “Instant Post Feedback” uncheck the box and save your changes. Hopefully this will take care of it for all your sites (if you have more than one).

And thank you for bringing this up! For some reason mine was checked and I don’t remember ever doing so.

Thanks, JustJennifer. I did eventually find it, just last evening. My Instant Post Feedback setting was NOT checked, yet it was doing it, anyway. I had to check, save, close my browser, open it again, UNcheck it, save, close, open … and then the “Congratulations” sidebar stopped popping up.

I was going to come in this morning and post the link myself, but you beat me to it. Thank you!
