Preventing feature image cropping in Puzzle?

My feature images keep getting their tops chopped off (I am using the Puzzle theme).
I tried increasing the maximum dimensions for both medium and thumbnail images in Media Settings, but the problem persists.
Any help would be much appreciated!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The about page for the Puzzle theme has some warnings that the cropping for the featured images can be a bit irregular. Here’s what they say about it:
The featured post thumbnails (on the homepage) are resized to 545 wide by 280 tall – however keep in mind that they will be cropped differently depending upon the size of the tile they are being used in.
You may want to consider cropping your images in advance to that size before uploading to prevent problems like this!

Yes, I ended up stumbling upon that myself last night. I wish Puzzle didn’t do that – I’d love to have images of different shapes and sizes.
