Preventing text wrap around
-
I’m trying to post a slim picture, set left in my main text column leaving white space at right. But the new paragraph of text which follows the image insists on wrapping round the image, ie, starting in the white space beside the pic at its top right corner. How can I persuade this new paragraph to begin beneath the pic?

Hi! There are a few things going on that you’ll need to adjust.
First, it sounds like you might be placing your cursor inside a paragraph of text and inserting your photo there. That will definitely wrap the text of that paragraph around your photo. Instead, try starting a new paragraph and inserting the photo there. This should place the photo without wrapping any text around it (because there is no text in that paragraph). This also works if you create a blank space between two existing paragraphs, place your cursor in the blank space, and insert your photo.
Second, once you’ve placed your image into your post you can click once on the image itself and see a small menu appear at the top of the photo. There you’ll see additional alignment options (left, center, right).

Sorry, deanroyal, I don’t understand any of that! I’m not placing my cursor inside any text in order to place the pic. One par of text ends. I hit enter to create a new par. The pic drops in on the next line of white, set left. Then I hit enter to create a new par and add further text. Yet in visual editor that new par appears wrapped at the top right of the pic. No amount of creating new paragraphs will stop the text going up there!

Ok, Dean, found the trick by altering the alignment of the pic to “none” (though only after updating added a second version of the image, so had to start over from scratch!). Thanks.
