Preview Looks different from actual edit.

  My edit looks completely different from when I press preview. In my preview, there is a photo in the middle of the page and a footer whereas in my edit there is none. Same goes for other pages where there is no footer on my edit but a footer showing up in the preview. I also added a new page to my menu and it is not showing up on my menu bar. Not sure how to fix any of this could use some help. Has been very difficult to work with.

  Hi there,

  There’s a few different places in WordPress where you can see a preview of your site. Can you tell me which of these you’re referring to?

  Are you working on a page at Pages ->All Pages? In that case the editor will only show the content you added to that page, but the preview will show the full page as it appears on your site, including elements that form part of the theme like the header or footer.

  Are you working in the Site Editor at Appearance ->Editor? That’s used to modify the layout of your theme itself, so the editor will show the different layout elements of your theme, but depending which specific template you’re editing, might not show the content of any specific page.

  Or are you in the Customizer at Appearance ->Customize? The preview there should show your full site, i.e. content and theme, and any changes you make there should update in the preview instantly. But the preview won’t match your live site until you save your changes in the Customizer.

  I also added a new page to my menu and it is not showing up on my menu bar.

  What is the title of the page you added, that you’re not seeing in the menu?

  Did you add it in the Menu section in the Customizer, or via a navigation block in the site editor? The Quadrat theme you’re using supports both options, which can make things a bit confusing, and it’s best to use one or the other, rather than using both options.

  I had a look in both locations for your site, and see the same menu items in both that I see on the site itself, though, so it’s possible the new item you added was never saved.
