Preview not working

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I recently changed some settings upon coming back to WordPress for the first time in awhile, and I’m not sure what I did but all my pages when navigated from the homepage are strange and barren, completely different from what I remembered.

When editing, they are as they should be, but when I try to preview them they return to that strange simplistic state.

I tried clearing my browser’s cache but that didn’t help, please help me fix this issue as I spent a lot of time making these pages.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hey there!

I took a look at your site umsatswebsite.wordpress.com, and I am able to see the content of each of your pages when previewed and on the live site. Have you made updates or improvements that resolved the issue since this request?

Without more information, I’m not quite able to tell what happened, but what is possible is that a Template used by your pages may have had the Post Content Block removed by accident. This block is what allows the individual page content of any given page to appear on the template that page uses. For example, all pages default to using the “Page Template” – so if the Post Content block were to accidentally be removed from the Page template, then all of your pages would load without their unique content showing.

To add the Post Content block back onto a template, click on the + Block Inserter icon and search for “post content”. Then, click it to add the block to the post or page.

To dive deeper into Templates, I highly recommend checking out this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/templates/

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any follow up questions we can answer.
