Preview post no longer working
-
Hi,
The preview post functionality no longer seems to work on my blog xrmrocks.com. I’ve just created a new post and when I click preview I’m given a 404 message. Could you please fix it?
Many Thanks,
Neil. -
Hi there,
I just went and took a look at your site and was not able to duplicate a 404 message for a test post (or for your previous post).
Please note that you do need to save a draft before you can preview a post.
Are you still having the same issues for your site? If so, could you describe the steps you are taking and the URL which is being generated when you click the Preview button?
Thanks!

Hey,
I’ve just created a test post, saved it as draft – http://i.imgur.com/dve825F.png
When I click on either of the preview links, I’m directed to http://xrmrocks.com/?p=320&preview=true and see this 404 – http://i.imgur.com/fSCIgi6.png
Thanks, Neil.

Hi there,
Thanks for sending in those screenshots, they may have been the key to this! I noticed in your URL bar in the compose screen, there was nothing, indicating that there were no extensions active. However when the preview screen was pulled up, there was an icon of what appeared to be a cookie with a red X through it.
Do you have some sort of extension which blocks or manages cookies? If so, could you add *.wordpress.com to the whitelist so that cookies can be successfully written to your browser from us? That should allow the preview function to work.

Hey again,
Thank you, you’ve helped solve it!
It wasn’t actually a browser extension, it was the ‘Block third-party cookies and site data’ option in Chrome which was causing it – http://i.imgur.com/nJwSgOe.jpg. I’ve added an exception now and it seems fine.
Thanks for the help!
