  Which price are you referring to please? Hosting is free here but ugrades aren’t. Of course upgrades are all subject to price increases just as everything else in this world is. http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/

  The upgrades. It was $17 then, and $18 now. Hmm will it be $18 forever (according to the amount that we paid when we upgrade) or will it change over time?

  The jump in cost was due to an increase in the cost of domain name registration. If there are increases in the future, then your costs will likely go up again.
