Good Day i live in south Africa, i want to create a website. I have created a free .wordpress.com domain for now. How much will it cost for a business package per month? As i want premium themes or is this free? premium themes are an additional package. If i buy a theme off themeforest is there still a fee with wordpress? how do i install themeforest themes on here.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi @atticrush ,

To purchase a custom domain (that is a domain with out the .wordpress.com portion, and will just read .com or .net, etc…) then you can see the pricing information here: http://wordpress.com/start/domains/

There is an annual fee to renew that custom domain and maintain ownership of it.

You can purchase a premium theme on WordPress.com and not not upgrade from your free plan. The premium themes are separate from your plan. If you purchase the theme, but it is not working out for you, you can request a refund for it. To request a refund visit http://wordpress.com/purchases/ Please note, that refunds take 7+ days to get posted in your account. More information on refunds at WordPress.com can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/

Details on the upgraded plans can be found here: https://wordpress.com/plans/atticrush.wordpress.com
The price is charged to your account once, and not on a monthly basis. Again, you can request a refund within 30 days of upgrading your plan from http://wordpress.com/purchases/

You will not be able to use a theme purchased elsewhere on your WordPress.com blog. You can only use these available themes: http://wordpress.com/themes/ You can’t install themeforest to your WordPress.com account.

Let me know if you have more questions!

    Hi Liz

Thanks for your revert i do have an existing domain on another site and hosting and will transfer my domain at a later stage and happy with pricing.

The only question is purchasing a premium theme, i know that cost is separate. But do i have to purchase a business package @ $24.92 on wordpress inorder to run premium themes?

Or can i just buy that theme and all wont be charged?

    thanks kindly

  • If you already own a custom domain (one that does not have .wordpress.com at the ending) then you can set up Domain Mapping to use it here at WordPress.com.

You do not need to purchase the Business Plan in order to purchase a premium theme. You can use a premium theme with your free WordPress.com plan. The charge for the premium theme is separate from the plan upgrades.

You can just purchase the premium theme for the listed price, that is all that you will be charged. If the theme isn’t working out perfectly for you, then you can request a refund for it here: http://wordpress.com/purchases/ Please note, that refunds take 7+ days to post into your account once requested.

    Good Day Liz

Hope you well, my hosting provider Hetzner has asked me if it’s possible to move the wordpress website files and then upload them to the hosting server thereafter. If this is possible and you can provide me with the files you can then i will upload these website files via an FTP for them.

    How would i do this?

    Thanks a mil.

  • Here’s how you transition from a self-hosted sight over to WordPress.com: https://en.support.wordpress.com/coming-from-self-hosted/

    Hi Liz

Hope you are well, am i able to change the font size of the menu headers in wordpress.com? or do i need worpress.org to code the actions.

I am also battling to add content on the subtitle pages and the header image is not fixed it moves on different size screen formats.

    Kind regards

  • All of your theme features are outlined here: https://wordpress.com/themes/bindery/

You are able to customize the appearance of your theme through CSS. Cascading Style Sheets. In order to access this editing feature, you would need to upgrade your WordPress.com plan to Premium. CSS is outlined here:https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

It looks like you have content on all of your menu items listed. Are you still needing help adding content somewhere? When clicking through http://atticrush.wordpress.com/ the header image is stationary for me.

You can share screen shots here for me to view, sometimes it is easier to see what you are having trouble with. Just upload your screen shots to https://snag.gy/ and copy/paste the URL here, then I can view them.
