pricing and plans

When I call up the pricing page, I get the prices in Canadian dollars. I don’t live in Canada, and I don’t know why they only post the Canadian prices to me.

How can I get the American prices — per month and per year?

Second question. I would like to set up a LMS (like Moodle) in coordination with my website. Is this possible on the WordPress ‘Premium’ plan? How much would this be for a year?

Hi @environmentaljusticetv. Pricing appearing in Canadian currency instead of US currency could be a number of reasons. I believe WordPress.com uses more than just user agents from your browser to determine location. Are you using any plugins, localized browser, or if on mobile different region keyboard? Any of these could possibly cause the currency to show up as Canadian instead of US.

Here are some examples of URLs for different countries:

    USA – https://wordpress.com/#plans
    Germany – https://de.wordpress.com/#plans
    France – https://fr.wordpress.com/#plans

Not sure what the Canadian URL would be. https://ca.wordpress.com/#plans redirects to US page.

Anyway the US plans on (2018-08-02) are as follow:

    Personal $4 USD / month
    Premium $8 USD / month
    Business $25 USD / month

All these plans are billed yearly which means you will have to pay $4×12 = $48, $8×12 = $96, $25×12 = $300 up-front respectively depending on the plan you choose.

Hi again! I had to look up what LMS (Learning Management System) stands for – thanks for giving an example. I am not sure of what can and cannot be done on WordPress.com. The WordPress software is a CMS (Content Management System).

From my brief research it appears that LMSs are simply geared towards learning out of the box. With WordPress you should be able to create a pretty awesome LMS if you really want to put the time into it. Perhaps there already exist some themes/plugins that do this for you out of the box.

I will say that while researching shortcodes (https://en.support.wordpress.com/shortcodes/) I stumbled upon the quiz shortcode (https://en.support.wordpress.com/quiz-shortcode/). At the very least you could initially start off with that while you do a bit more research and assess the situation.

    Good luck, hope this helped!
