Pricing structure/buying a theme

  Hi wordpress, hoping to ask a couple of questions. I’d like to purchase a premium theme, can I please ask why the price that appears over the icon, increases when you go to purchase? Also, in order to buy/use a premium theme on my wordpress account, what minimum account is required? I.e. can I have a personal account but use a purchased premium theme? Thank you.   A Premium theme is a one-time purchase available for the life of your site on WordPressdotcom. You don’t need to upgrade in order to use a Premium theme, however, both the Premium and Business Plan options give you the possibility of editing the theme’s CSS.

  However, the price should not change between what is shown on the Theme showcase and when you go to purchase it so I’ve tagged this thread for Staff attention.

  Hello,

  Thank you for the quick reply.

  Please can I check, all the themes I’ve clicked on seem to be an annual purchase. So I’d have to pay for example $97 every year?

  The price if the same now, this is fixed.

  WordPress.com themes are a one time purchase, not annual.

  staff-ozmodiar, thanks for the confirmation. The question for Staff was the change in price between clicking on the theme in the theme showcase and the cart.

  I just tried to buy a Premium theme for one of my sites and there is indeed a misleading message in the checkout cart sidebar:

  Premium Theme: Rosalie – annual subscription

  Additionally, when I first tried to buy a Premium theme through the Showcase, it was not applied to the correct site and the item changed from a Premium theme to an upgrade Plan. Thanks for looking into it.

  My concern is that each wordpress.com theme says the following when I go to purchase:

  This is just an example, but everyone I have selected says ‘annual subscription’

  I’m following up for staff-ozmodiar on this thread.

  WordPress.com Premium themes are indeed a one time purchase. You will not be billed for it annually, just once at the time of purchase.

  I do see the “Annual Subscription” message at checkout too and will investigate further.
