Primary Blog

I’ve moved from wordpress.com to wordpress.org with my own hosted site and I have setup the redirect which works fine. I have also changed my website to the new one under Personal Settings > Website in my WordPress.com dashboard. I also read about changing my Primary Blog under the same menu. At present it is set to the original wordpress.com blog. I have the option to change this to my new blog but the name of that space is not my new domain name (I think its the default alias on the multi hosted wordpress server they have). My question is, if I change Primary Blog where does that actually appear? what is the effect of changing that? Thanks

    Hi there,

The primary site in your account settings is the default site you’ll see while using WordPress.com. For example, when you go to your My Sites section or create a new blog post, it will default to your primary site.

If you want your new domain name to show instead of the default alias your host gave you for your new site, you can update that by disconnecting and reconnection Jetpack to WordPress.com. You can do that from the Jetpack section in your new site’s dashboard, using the “Disconnect from WordPress.com” link at the bottom of the page.

Please let me know if you have any other questions about that. :)
