Primary Domain Name

  I’m trying to re-direct my researchingfamilyroots.wordpress.com website to the new address researchingfamilyroots.com. I purchased the site re-direct from wordpress to do this; I purchased the new domain name from GoDaddy.com, and I purchased a 2 year hosting package from GoDaddy.com. However, when trying to change the primary domain to the new name, researchingfamilyroots.com, the name does not appear on the available choices. How do I make the new name my primary domain name?

  You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.

  Thank you, I’m subscribed to the thread so that I can receive the notifications. I will add that I purchased the $13 re-direct from wordpress and a domain name and hosting package from GoDaddy.com. However, in trying to set the new site up, GoDaddy informed me that the .wordpress.com files cannot be migrated & I have to set up all new pages or pay WordPress $129 to migrate the files. Is this the case, or ? Thank you, Mary
