Primary menu that open up a secondary separate vertical menu – is that possible
-
I have a menu system on my current non-wp site (olleydesign.co.uk) that I think works extremely well and I would like to try and use it as I change my site to wordpress.
As an example, the 3rd item in my top menu is ‘potfolio’ and it opens a second vertical menu for the different types of work I do.
when clicking on an item in the second menu, a list opens up and stays open, so the various things I’ve designed can be looked at in turn, without the user getting lost.
what I’m wondering is whether it is possible to duplicate this menu system on a wordpress site/theme, or indeed if anyone has come across an existing theme that works like this.
many thanks for any comments or help, I am very new to wordpress.

Does the Custom Design upgrade let me edit HTML?
No. The Custom Design upgrade allows you to edit fonts and CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup, PHP code, or content. … read more here http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questionsAll CSS editing at wordpress.com is theme specific. Which theme are you editing and how can any Volunteer help you when the blog is private and they cannot view it?

@olleydesign, is your site going to be hosted here at WordPress.com or are you going to host it on your existing web host?
-
Also, it would be helpful to know the URL of your existing site so that we could look at the menus there to see if it is possible here.

Hi, my blog on wordpress is set as private only because I’ve just been experimenting/learning wordpress on it, I’ve got a localhost WP site here that I am trying to learn child themes on, but the menus are currently beyond me.
My existing (non-wordpress) website with the menus I like to try and recreate in WP is…
My plan is to try and re-create it as a wordpress site which I will host possibly with easyspace because I have some experience of them. It won’t be a .wordpress.com site.

@olleydesign
We don’t provide support for local installs of WordPress.org software. We don’t provide CSS editing support for anyone who is not referring to a free hosted WordPress.com blog that they have purchased an annually renewable custom design upgrade from WordPress.com for.If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.org bloggers.
