Primary Sidebar

Is there a way to edit the width of the primary sidebar using css?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, but on Twenty Fourteen it is a bit involved. I’m assuming you are wanting to increase the width? Can you tell me by how much? What we have to do is to decrease the width of the content area and then increase the size of the primary sidebar by that same amount, and that actually happens with margins rather than with a width setting.

Well its mainly for my Facebook widget as you can see its quite squashed i just need it to look a bit better

Hi, and thanks for the clarification. The FB widget code comes in from FB as an iframe, and they set widths directly in the HTML for the widget content, which makes it nearly impossible to make any changes to the basic styling. I’ve tried a number of things with this, and have dead-ended on it.
The short version is we are not going to be able to widen the FB widget with CSS.
