Primary Site Deletion

    All,

Trying to set up WooPayments on my self hosted WP site. learning that I need a wp.com site to do that. When logging in to my wp.com site, there are two options for primary sites

    upcountrysd.com

    and,

    thepedaldotbike.wordpress.com (free)

    A couple of questions:

    1. I’m unable to delete the upcountrysd.com site. it is no longer active and used for nothing. I don’t just want to change the primary site to something else, I’d like to remove it entirely.

    2. If trying to create a WooCommerce store on my self hosted wp site (thepedal.bike), can one be connected to thepedaldotbike.wordpress.com or must the url match my self hosted url completely?

Not sure if that’s the right question. I’m stuck and hoping you can point me in the right direction?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

AFAIK, you only need a WordPress.com account in order to use Woo on your self-hosted site. You don’t need to have a website here as well.

    WooPayments: Startup Guide

For questions about setting up WooPayments, I’d recommend heading to their support. There’s a link at the top right on that same page as above.

Thanks. I think I’m in good shape with Woo. As for wp.com, I have a number of sites connected to my account that I’m unable to delete. One in particular was self hosted and is no longer active. I also have a deleted wordpress.com domain (free version). There is not option to remove these unused domains from my account. Is that an option?

Yes, it’s possible. Is the self-hosted site you want to remove from your dotcom account upcountrysd.com? Kindly confirm. If there are other self-hosted sites that you had jetpack on but didn’t remove the connection prior to removing them, list them here. You’ll need staff assistance for that.

As far as free wordpress.com sites, you should be able to delete them yourself following this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/ Once deleted the site should be removed from your account after about 30 days, but there will still be a “placeholder” page at that URL saying the site has been deleted. That can’t be removed.

I want to remove the site: https://mh-publishing.com/, I have not been able to edit the site for over a year. So please remove it and do not renew the site.
