primary site listed on gravatar

Hi! I have a new blog, and my old blog is still in existence (that’s ok), and still shows up as ‘how to find me online’ on my gravatar profile – not as ok, I’d like to switch that out for the new one. What do I need to do?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

You should be able to change your primary blog address here:

    https://wordpress.com/me/account

Update your URL and let me know if that works.

    Thanks!

Yes, already did that. It seems to have something to do with “verified external services.” Yesterday I tried deleting my old blog url as a verified external service and adding the new one, and kept getting the message “your blog is not responding or doesn’t exist.” According to “my sites” it definitely does and is my primary one, so idk …

In poking around trying to get back to this topic on the forums, since it didn’t show up on “search,” ran into a different topic that probably explains the problem; it’s evidently no longer possible to have wordpress verified as an external service – that was the way my old blog was listed. Both of them are, actually, listed as websites, which is fine, but the verified external services show up under the “find me online” rubric; that was where my old (now closed) blog was showing up, as well as on the “websites” list over on the right hand side of the screen. Delisting it as a “verified external service” solved the problem of redirecting people to the wrong place, but it’s kind of too bad I can’t list the new primary blog over there now. oh well. Thanks for you help, anyway.

  • Thanks for letting me know. That was the next thing I was going to ask since you mentioned verified service. So, this is a self-hosted WordPress site, correct?

I’ll take a look and verify myself that it is no longer a possibility, because if it isn’t, then it shouldn’t be an option.

    Let me know, thanks!
