Print not showing properly

I have searched but can’t find the answer to this or how to solve the problem: In the past when I have copied and pasted the info for my blog into wordpress it comes up exactly as seen in Word but now for some reason part of the print is missing and the remaining part is turned into numbered paragraphs, each with the number 1 at the side. I have tried altering settings without success.
To give an example, I post the following:
“The grass glittered with a million tiny diamonds, our feet scattering them around as we walked, leaving dark patches in our wake. The morning was cool but pleasant with powder puffs littering the sky. A light breeze brushed gently past us. We turned to the left as we entered the headland and followed the path along to where it drops down into the cove. I always sit atop this ridge for a while and just enjoy the views. Sometimes, on a clear day, the mountains of County Wicklow in Ireland are plainly visible, and sometimes a precious moment in time is placed before me.”
And it comes out like this:
” 1. Sometimes, on a clear day, the mountains of County Wicklow in Ireland are plainly visible, and sometimes a precious moment in time is placed before me.”
Could someone please tell me why this is suddenly happening and how to resolve the issue?

Try using the paste from word button/paste as a plain text or remove formatting. To show these buttons click the hide/show kitchen sink button which is at the end of the row. (In the post editor)Good luck.

Many thanks for your reply Lora. I have just succeeded in posting doing as you suggested. It is weird though that it has worked fine up until now and only just decided to stop accepting word documents. I don’t think that I ever shall understand computers!! :-)
