Printable view
-
Q. Is there any standard theme, in which it is possible to transform any post into a printable view form (without sidebars)?
-
some themes, when the link to your post is clicked, does not show the sidebar. you have to find them through the selection of themes available. is that what you mean? i’m not sure if there’s a printable view form for blogs, but that’s probably the next best thing to it.
-
Yes, that is what I mean. And I agree with you that printable view forms should be the standard option for blogs. Probably there is some place at WordPress to submit such proposals, but I am not sure.
The next thing I would do is to provide a possibitity for post editor programm to create Linking Within the Same Page (creating a
target, then create a link that points to the
target). Some posts or pages are rather long, so it would be convenient to make content in the beginning of such posts or pages. -
again i’m not quite sure if i understand your request. do you mean to say that if you have written a long post, you would like to write a little intro before linking it to the rest of the post in another link? that’s how you use the more tag, it’s one of the buttons in the editor. after you place the more tag you can continue the rest of the post, but the real post appears in the home page until the more tag.

“if you have written a long post, you would like to write a little intro before linking it to the rest of the post in another link?” – this problem I already resolved (with your help).
Now I mean the different. If someone opens a post and want to print it out, it would be convenient to print all the post in one column without sidebars.
The third issue I raised – was the functionality of the editor (impossibility to insert anchors (targets) inside a post and to make links to that targets.
-
hmm, sorry i don’t know what are targets. if you wait a little more someone with more knowledge could probably answer you.
-
That I understand very well.
Do the WordPress team has any plans to develop the standard editing window, to inlude the possibility to insert anchors without switching to the html mode? And to inset hyperlinks to anchors within the same page without switching to html mode?I still use the Composer of Netscape Communicator 4.8 wich has very short but very sufficient list of functions for wysiwyg editing.

You’d have to ask them directly via feedback but we have that feature already using the standard editor. Most of us can’t stand the rich text editor. You can change at Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile -> The checkbox is near the top.
Turn away from the Dark Side…. :)
