Printing of Posts Issue

I am having trouble printing beyond page 1 of some of my blog posts; as well as our other readers. It is not our printers. I have tried posting the blog post into PrintFriendly.com and get the same result. Can you help?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What’s your problem exactly? Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?

If any of our long blog posts carry over to more than one page, we cannot print beyond that one page. This has been happening to us and to our customers who try to print out our blog posts. And it doesn’t seem to make a difference which browser we use – Firefox or Chrome or Internet Explorer 9 – the result is the same.

Here is an example of a blog post that we are having issues with:

    Thanks for your help!

Are you using the [Print] button that’s at the bottom of the post? Could you send us a screenshot of the print preview just before you’re trying to print? You can upload the screenshot to your blog’s media library.

I have tried in different browsers and operating systems, and all of my print previews and actual PDF printouts showed the content on 2 pages for that post. Can you tell me which particular browser and version you used to create that PDF preview, and which operating system you are using as well?

It’s just not me; it’s our customers too and I can’t speak to what they are using. We have tried Firefox and Internet Explorer – using Print to PDF and external printing methods, as well as our internal printing. Several people have tried inside and outside of our company with no success.

I’ve asked our engineers and I’ll get back to you when I have an update from them. Thanks for your patience!

    Hi Angelique,

I continued to try different possibilities, and I was able to successfully reproduce your issue only once: when I printed to PDF using CutePDF (a “PDF printer” for Windows), in Internet Explorer 9. Otherwise, absolutely everything else works. I suspect that whatever you use to print the PDF in Windows is the source of the problem. The PDF that you gave me says that it was generated with Acrobat Distiller 9.5.3; do you have Adobe Acrobat Pro (not Reader) installed?

When you say that have tried printing to “external printing methods”, did you print the PDF or did you send the actual post straight to the printer? Can you please try printing the post directly to the printer, and not to PDF first?

I have tried printing to a normal printer. Our customers – plural – have tried printing to a normal printer. Even when we print to a PDF or an external web-based printing mechanism like printerfriendly.com – we ALL get the same results. It does NOT print any text beyond page 2. We get a page 2 – but there is nothing on it. The entire blog post is not visible. You are the only one, it appears, that can actually print it in its entirety.

    Hello again,

We are still working on resolving this for you; I’ll get back to you as soon as I have an answer!

    Hi Angelique,

After extensive testing on our end, we do not yet have the definitive source of the problem pinned down, but I do have something I’d like for you to test. In your Sharing settings, can you switch from “Official Buttons” to “Icons + Text” and then try printing again, and let me know if that fixes it? Thanks!
