printing posts
-
I have a Premium site and have the following questions:
1. Printing a post produces copy with the text of the embedded links and is very ugly. I would like to print the post as it appears on the web. Is that possible? If so, how?
2. I get a lot of SPAM which I eliminate. Is there a way to reduce the amount of SPAM?
3. I like the clean, modern appearance of the Kubrick theme. Is there another, similar theme you would suggest?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like this link text is being caused by some CSS within the theme. A solution is proposed here:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/printing-blog-prints-out-all-links-in-url
Basically, you’ll want to copy this CSS and place it under Appearance -> Customize -> CSS:
@media print { #page a[href]:after { content:none; } }Then, the URLs shouldn’t appear in the print version. Can you give this a try?
I get a lot of SPAM which I eliminate. Is there a way to reduce the amount of SPAM?
The best method is to continue marking this spam as spam (instead of deleting it). This helps to teach our spam filter what to catch moving forward.
If a lot of the spam comments have a common string of text, I suggest adding that string to your blacklist:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-blacklist
You can use the comment author’s name, IP address, web site, as well as the comment itself. Please make sure the word is not something contained in non-spam comments. For example, if you enter “press” as a blacklisted word, “WordPress” will match.

The Twenty Eleven theme is pretty similar:

Keep in mind that header image is optional. Would that work?

Thanks for your comments. I switched to “Suburbia” as a theme even though I do not like its name. It produces printed copy without superimposing the hyperlinked web addresses. YEA!
I like the way Suburbia displays the starts of quite a few posts. It really gives the reader an instantaneous look at what I have done. However, I dislike its moving to the individual post page: subscribe, search and archives. I want those on home page of the blog, but I do not know how to make that happen. Help!

Are you referring to this widget section here starting with archives?
The Suburbia theme only displays that widget area on single posts and pages. It will not display widgets on the homepage. That cannot be adjusted. If you would like to display widgets on your homepage, you would need to switch to another theme.
Just a note, I’m happy to answer any follow-up questions on printing in this thread, but if you have other non-printing related questions, would you mind opening a new thread? That way, this thread remains focused on the topic in case anyone else stumbles upon it!

Thanks again for your comments. Very helpful. Is there another theme similar to Suburbia in looks and displaying multiple posts that would allow the archives, search, etc. on the home page?
