Prioritize posts

    Hello there mates :)

Is there a way to keep one specific post on top of the others? Something like a sticky or pinned post.

    Thanks in advance.

You would have to change the date of that post every single time you made another post, so it would always appear to be newer. It’s a real pain. You might find it better to use a static page for whatever info you want in that post, and call it Read Me or Intro or something, or if it’s shorter just put it in a text widget at the top of your sidebar.

Wow, such a quick reply :D

    Ok, I’ll check that out.

    Thanks mate.

You’re welcome and good luck. Just be aware that if you set a static Page, rather than your normal Blog Posts, to be the front of the blog, you will not rank nearly as high in searches. It sort of slaughters your Googlejuice, but for some blogs it’s important to have an intro. You can also just leave the blog as the main landing point and have a Page listed on tabs at the top or in the Pages widget in the sidebar.

the static page in the front is a lame workaround. a pinned post should be an easy upgrade. when you move to static page, you lose widget columns and can’t see ANY posts.

That’s certainly not true on most themes. What theme are you using?
