  Hi. I’m just starting using WP and have a question related to the ‘privacy’ setting: to begin with, I’d like my blog to be hidden but I was wondering if further ahead in time I can change this setting to ‘public’?

  Yes, you can set your site to private now and then make it public anytime you’d like to later on.
