Privacy Compliance

I work for the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. We are looking to install the WordPress Statistics plugin on our instance of WordPress but we are subject to the strict privacy legislation, FIPPA. If you wouldn’t mind, can you answer the following questions to help us in vetting this plugin?
Does the WordPress Statistics plugin collect any personal information about its users?
If so, what information does it collect?
If you do collect any personal information, who has access to it?
Are there any third parties that will have access to personal information, if you collect it?
If you do collect personal information, who owns the information? Does the user own it or does your company own it?
If you do collect personal information, where is it stored? Where is information accessed from?
When and if you store personal information, is the data encrypted when it is stored?
If personal data is collected and stored, do you have any data redundancy policies to ensure data is kept safe if one of your databases is compromised?
What kind of technologies are used to share information across your company? Do you use wireless technologies, is information shared in a closed loop system, or do you use portable devices such as USBs?Thank you.

here are a couple of links that will help a bit

but you have some very specific questions – so I have flagged this for the staff to help

Hello nicholasinlagos!
Could you, please, give us the link to the site you want to install the plugin?
-
Hi carinapilar,
I don’t have a specific webpage that I’m trying to install this plugin on. We have a multi-site instance of WordPress at the University that we’re looking to apply statistics, on a site-level, to.
Is it possible for you to answer these questions regardless of not having a specific webpage?

Are you asking about installing the JetPack Plugin which has WordPress.COM Stats and a lot more in it?
-
@nicholasinlagos, as @auxclass asked, since it looks like it’s a self-hosted WordPress.org site, we need to know which plugin you’re going to use. We can help you with those questions if it’s Jetpack, but if it’s another one, you will need to contact the plugin developer.

@nicholasinlagos, I suggest you contact the Jetpack support directly at the link below:
