privacy for multiple blogs

  i’m thinking of signing for a couple more blogs here in wordpress. this current blog that i have is an anonymous blog. the two blogs i want to sign up for i don’t intend for them to be associated with my current blog.

  can i have these blogs be totally unassociated with each other, or should i just sign up for a new username? i’m thinking of the convenience by signing for blogs under one username, but my priority is that the blogs shouldn’t be associated with each other…

  On wordpress the one constant across the domain is your username. I believe that if you do not wish to risk association then you must register separately using a different email address and under a different username when you are not logged in.

  it’s really weird. other than the first day the friend surfer launched, there’s really no way to associate multiple blogs under the same username.

  but i’m still weirded out that it all shows up in the same dashboard, since on the backend, it is tied together.

  if you do make another blog with the same username, make sure both blogs use themes that don’t show the author of each post.

  sbk: i could do that, but can the blogs be associated in information elsewhere, such as user’s profile etc?

  In our forum profiles we can only link a single blog to our username. I have mine linked only to my blog on blogging rather than to any of my other blogs. Also I think one would have to exercise caution about providing any personal information on occupation, interests, country, etc. both on their profiles and on their About pages. Maybe the other caution one might want to exercise is not being signed in under both usernames on different tabs at the same time but I’m just speculating on that – I don’t know for sure.

  I was thinking that you could put one name in the first name, one name into the last name, and a third into the username and then pick which one gets used on each blog but that appears not to be a possible solution since you have to choose on the profile page and not with each blog.

  Well, that sucks…

  Sorry but I vote for different user accounts. Please let me know if you need some gmail invites. :)
