Privacy of site

I was wondering if there was a way to password protect my blog or part of my blog (the posts themselves) instead of having to keep the whole site private then invite individual viewers.

Hi there, If your site is hosted here on WPcom, you’ll want to read this support guide to Password Protecting Posts and/or Pages: https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-and-page-visibility/

Keep in mind that protecting individual posts or pages with passwords on a WPcom site is only as secure as the people who have that password. Unlike making your entire WPcom site Private where you have much more control on who accesses your content, post/page passwords can be shared and there is no “log-out” on such pages. If someone accesses your password protected post or page on a public computer, unless the user clears that browser’s cache and cookies, the password cookie that is placed in the browser is available to anyone using that same computer.

If your site is not hosted here on WPcom, you’ll want to consult with the forums for users of the WP open source software at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ More on the differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    Hope that helps.
