Privacy policy for WP and Google Adwords

    Hello there and Happy weekend :)
    I’m appealing to some of the seasoned professionals here for help. I’m trying to get my site Google Adwords worthy (Uggghhh…frustration) and I can’t for the life of me seem to figure all that I need in order to write a proper privacy policy (regarding WP, google adwords, etc). Does anyone know if theres an available template or something somewhere? Or what all needs to be included? I figure this is a good place to ask, since Adwords is quite popular on blogs.

    Hi there,

    I had the same dilemma a few years back, and then I stumbled upon Automattic’s awesome privacy policy. As you might be already aware, Automattic is the company that builds WordPress. They also have a pretty kickass privacy policy that they have made available under Creative Commons Sharealike license, which means you’re free to take it and repurpose for your own site.     By the way, I hope you know that AdSense (and most other ad networks) is not allowed on non-VIP WordPress.com sites. But you can use AdWords to bring visitors to your site.

    Ack! I actually did not know that until I read your post… Bummer :/ Does it really have to be a VIP site and nothing less than that? I’ve applied for WP WordAds here, so hopefully I can monetize somehow.
    Links and banners are allowed though, right?

    Affiliate links and static image banners are allowed, as far as I know.

    If you’d like to make full use of advertising networks, I’d recommend self hosted WordPress(.org) on a web host of your choice.
