Privacy question

Is there a way I can have my blog set as “private” but not require people to have a WordPress account to view it? I sent an email invitation to a viewer, but they had to create an account to see my blog.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @crafter188,
Any viewer with an invite to a private site requires a WordPress.com account in order for them to view it. That’s just how WordPress.com works with private blog viewers.
It’s not possible to view a private site without being logged into a WordPress.com account, and one cannot follow a private site via email only like they can with a public site. You can read more about private blog viewers in the following link:

I hope this clarifies why someone you sent an invite to view your private blog was prompted to create a WordPress.com account.
