  Can my private blog still be seen by uninvited others?

  Also, what are the chances that bogus people can join my private blog?

  This is my first time ever doing this and it is being set up for a group only. I want to ensure complete confidentiality.

  No – I just see the screen that says “Private”

  what are the chances that bogus people can join my private blog

  None – you need to invite then approve everyone that can see your blog – you can also delete them from seeing your blog at any time

  You should caution your invited users that if they access your site on a public computer, say a library or possibly an internet cafe, that they should log out before leaving. If they don’t, then the next user can easily press the “back” button to see what they were looking at.

  That doesn’t mean a subsequent user will always access your site without the necessary password, but it’s worth cautioning your invited users about the possibility. Tell them to always log out before leaving!

  The same applies to a home with multiple users on one computer, or a home with multiple computers left with easy access to spouses, children, or friends. Tell your users to log out before leaving or others can read your site: the log in code may or may not expire in a few minutes…

  I just created a wp blog (no posts yet) and mapped a domain I already owned with no issues, but I can’t seem to find any way to privatize my domain. I see the instructions but they don’t line up with reality. I’m happy to pay the $8 but I don’t see how and was surprised it wasn’t part of the $13 billing; I was watching for it. Thank you!

  The domain is already privatized with its registrar but the way I read (or misread) your instructions, I need to pay $8 to wp. My apologies if that is not so.

  I have Privacy Questions which still remain unanswered because your link took me to a place I’d been many times, looking from there for a ‘Settings (with cog icon)’ to click from My Domains page. I do understand your position and if this doesn’t get easier real quick I’ll just go to your competition, no problem. Thanks.
