Privacy settings

Under settings and privacy at My Site, I don’t get the options for public, hidden and private as WordPress tells me I should. I just get info on ‘Privacy Policy page.’

You don’t reveal the address of the site you need help with. Are you talking about a site hosted here at WordPress.com? If so, “Settings” “General” and scroll down on the right for public, hidden and private. If you are talking about a site hosted elsewhere and using the WordPress.org software individual posts and pages can be set to private but I believe you need a plugin to make the whole site private. https://wordpress.org/support/

I just created a WordPress site via Bluehost, and following the WP tutorial video, which takes you thru BH, and I expected to find the same settings as shown in the video, as it leads you straight into dashboard information. But because the host is not WP per se, I need a plug in, correct?
It’s also confusing that I can log into BH to get to my site, and BH home page lets me ‘log into WP’ to get to my site dashboard. But if I try to log into WP directly, or even bookmark the URL wp-admin page, WP has no account for me as a user and asks if I want to create a site and a page. Even though BH let’s me ‘log into WP’, I’m really just accessing the WP program for my site-?

If you have a site hosted by Bluehost then it is a WordPress.ORG software install.
WordPress.COM hosted sites and WordPress>ORG software installs on paid hosting and local installs have different logins and different support documentation. Unfortunately, you are posting to the wrong support forum. We provide support only for WordPress.COM hosted sites on our servers and your site is not among them. WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and you can read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
