  My site was not launched and still had a Coming Soon landing page. However, at some point, whether due to an update or something else, it did launch. I have tried to correct this in the Privacy settings under ‘My Site’ in WP, but the only privacy setting visible to me is: Public. Every tutorial and article i’ve reviewed online about this says that I should have two other options allowing me to make my site private or reinstate the Coming Soon page. Any help greatly appreciated.

  @haleyfrances5ddd7b5a06, are you talking about theroughdraftyears.com? If so, this site is hosted on Bluehost, not on WordPress.com – it’s just connected to your account via Jetpack. It won’t behave the same as sites created on our platform.

  To clear up any further confusion, there is WordPress.com and WordPress.org and they are two different entities.

  We, WordPress.com are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is a stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.
