  I have selected site to be private, but it shows up online in my browser. WHY??? This site cannot be public yet.

  Hi,

  You will be able to see the site as long as you’re logged into your WordPress.com account. You, as the owner, will be able to see the site even though it’s private.
  If you’re not sure, try using an incognito/private browser tab.
