Is it possible to make specific sections of a WordPress site private but keep the rest public?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

    Yes it is possible.

To make a particular page private, go to the Pages > All Pages on your WordPress dashboard and then select the page you want to make private.

After the Edit Page screen opens up, on the right side panel under Status & Visibility > Visibility click Public and a drop down will pop-up enabling you to select whether you want the page to be public or private (see screenshot link below)

Once done, click the Update button to effect the change.

    All the best.

  • Hi there,

    Yes this is possible.

On your WordPress.com dashboard, go to Pages > All Pages and select the page you want to make private.

When the Edit Page screen opens up, check the right side panel for Status & Visibility. Under that header is Visibility option. Click on ‘Public’ button and you will get an option to select Private or Public.

Make your desired selection for that page and click ‘Update’ button at the top right of the screen to effect your changes. That’s it :)

I hope this helps. All the best.
