Why is it that when I “would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Bing, Technorati) and archivers”, the categories don’t work?
They redirect visitors not to my categories but a global one…
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

But I dont see how these two are connected?
I do want people to find my blog.
But I’d like them to get to ‘my’ categories when they click on them… -

If you set privacy to block search engines, then tags and categories above or below posts remain local. It removes you from global search, but search engines will have a hard time finding your blog.
Keep in mind: Many people find they get hits from people looking at the globals tags.
Category and tag widgets, or clouds, link only to your own posts in your blog. They help readers navigate around your blog.
-
The trick here is to use global tags to your advantage, by making them as unique as possible, such that when users click them, only your posts show up.

A shame, I would love to appear on search engines but also link to my categories only… It would make most sense for my blog.
Anyway, thank you for your help.
