  Can I make a single post public on a blog marked as private?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  That is not possible, no. You still have the display settings of public, private and password protected for posts on a private blog, but that merely controls whether invited followers can see it or not – if it’s set to private only administrators or editors can see it, but regular viewers can’t. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/

  But a private blog is inaccessible in its entirety for anyone who hasn’t been invited as a viewer or contributor. Changing the display settings of an individual post makes no difference to that. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
