Where do I go specifically, step by step to get to my blog privacy setting?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Not sure I am in the right place after going through the promptings. Where do I go to set the privacy settings for each of my blogs. I need step by step directions. I am sort of lost in where to find it. Thanks :)

Hi there,
All support docs are at http://support.wordpress.com
Search for site visibility. You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to Settings → Reading and then scroll down to Site Visibility
To change blog visibility to private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 .

re: front page error message
Nothing Found
It seems we cannot find what you are looking for. Perhaps try a search? There is nothing wrong with your site. By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the front page error message and searchbox that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
For creating a post see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/#publish-a-new-post
For creating a page see here
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/#create-a-new-pageFor editing see:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the step by step Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/
See also the “Video Quick Start” tutorial http://en.support.wordpress.com/video-quick-start/
The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also linked to on the bottom of your Admin page.

This blog is not private https://onbutterflywings3.wordpress.com/You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to Settings → Reading and then scroll down to Site Visibility

okay. I went to my site, WP Admin, General Setting….then where can if find it from there? :)

I posted the correct instructions above. Please take a break and read them carefully because you are on the wrong page, and I already provided the instructions and the link for the correct page above.
Know that you have to be logged in just as I said above ie. you must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to Settings → Reading and then scroll down to Site Visibility

all my blogs should be under all the same admin. onbutterflywings3. i created them by just adding more. Is this correct?
-
-
I am a Volunteers I don’t know what you did so I cannot say if that is correct or not. These days we have bloggers who do what I would never do ie. they change blog addresses and username accounts like they are changing socks.
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Your last resort for gaining access is to complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.
-
can I get someone else to help me. It seems you are getting frustrated with me in asking questions. I am very lost in how to log in as admin. All my sites are under one log in as far as I know.
-
I’m not at all frustrated. I have answered questions here for over 8 years along with raincoaster. We both predate all but one support staff member even being on support staff. We also predate the support docs.
If all your sites are registered under the same username account then please note what I posted above at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/privacy-settings-69?replies=12#post-2233139

I went to the link and I see all three of my blogs. So can you please help me in the next step? Thanks :)
-
Good. Then chose a blog and go to Dashboard →
Settings → Reading and then scroll down to Site VisibilityTo change blog visibility to private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 to make the blog private and then scroll down and click “save changes”.
1. Allow search engines to index this site
2. Discourage search engines from indexing this site
Note: Neither of these options blocks access to your site — it is up to search engines to honor your request.3. I would like my site to be private, visible only to myself and users I choose.

Okay! :) I understand what you meant by “Reader” now. It was to the right of my “My Sites”. I wasn’t sure what you were talking about before. LOL sorry :/
Cool! We did it!
Thanks A Bunch!

Reading is a Page. Reader is a feed reader. :)
I see you succeeded. On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the step by step Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/See also the “Video Quick Start” tutorial http://en.support.wordpress.com/video-quick-start/

Yeah! I figured out that the Reader was different than the page. Regardless I got it changed. I will go read the tutorial. Thanks for your patience. :)
