  Hello, I’m interested in setting my blog for only selected bloggers: Invitation only. Plus, can I upload PDF or Word docs?

  You can set your blog to private mode. Then you can send out invitations for your blog:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/#site-visibility-options

  You can also upload PDFs and documents through WordPress admin –> Media.

  For the PDFs if you want to embed the document itself, you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs. Otherwise, the documents will appear as a download link.
