  Hi, I want to make all of my WordPress sites private. It says that they are but they are not. It still pops up in a search and is completely public.

  Hi there,

  I checked all the sites in your account. https://stephanieperamasdogtrainer.wordpress.com/ is still public, but the other two are private. You can still access them because you’re logged into your account, but anyone logged into a different account or not logged in at all won’t be able to see the sites.

  Making your site private prevents people from visiting it, and it prevents search engines from indexing new content you add to the site. But it doesn’t remove content that search engines had already indexed and cached while the site was public, and your sites will continue to appear in online searches until the various search engines remove them from their indexes. This can take weeks or even months.

  In the case of Google specifically you can request that they remove your pages from their search results and cached pages. You can find their instructions for doing this here:
