Private blog receiving more hits than are authorised to view it

We have a private blog with a handful of people – nine at the most – who are able to view the blog, but the day after we make a post to it, we get anything up to four times the number of hits than that, and the ‘referrers’ bit says ‘WordPress dashboard’.

We are concerned that the privacy settings aren’t working. We’ve tested them from various computers, and we’re always asked to log in, but how come we have so many hits? And can those people accessing the blog actually see the site?

    Thank you

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Every time soneone clicks your link and see the private blog log-in box that’s a recorded hit.

You’ll be surprised just how many hits a private blog can get, just from your own views, and if one of the authorised people goes onto the home page, and then clicks on a post to leave a comment, and then clicks the back button, or the home button, that is already 3 hits from one person.
