private blog with email updates?

Hi
I am making a private blog so a few friends and i can keep up to date. i set it to be not recognized by search engines and would like to keep it that way. it also requires an invite. I would like to know if there is any way to enable people who are registered to recieve an email whenever there is a new post. it doesnt need to email full post (although that would be great) but i would like at least the title to be sent. most important though is that it is private.

I’m afraid if it’s a private blog (by invitation only) then you can’t have automated emails. Not private enough; it’s the same with RSS feeds. Private blogs don’t have those either, as they can be intercepted and republished really easily. Your best bet is to just create a mailing list and remember to post to it once you’ve made a post. A Yahoo or Gmail group should work just fine.

would there be a simple way then to email when a certain user makes a post? like with it just saying “livingnano new post” or something?

Not automated. Just either email people manually or make a mailing list and send out an announcement.
