Private blog with new post notification

  My blog is Joan & Rick On The Road. I’ve never blogged before and want to do a simple travel blog and have those I’ve invited receive an email alert when I post something new. I’ve got some people set up as viewers and some as followers (not sure what the difference is). I did a test posting the other day, and thought everyone would receive an alert, but they did not. This all seems so basic and I’ve looked at the support info, but haven’t figured it out yet.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  When your blog’s visibility is set to private, the email notification is not sent. You need to set your blog’s visibility to public from http://wordpress.com/settings in order for the email notification to go out.
