Private blogs and RSS links

  I have a private blog and would ideally like an RSS feed to update my viewers when content is updated. I understand from other forum questions and from what I’ve seen the wordpress support page that having a private blog means there’s no way to have rss links.

  Have there been any recent developments? Or does anyone know a way around it?
