Private Domain for blog
-
I have set up my blog, but before I post, I want to know if my domain name is private. I did click the box but I believed that I had to pay something. But I was not asked to supply card details and my blog is now active ?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

hi thanks for the reply. sorry, I probably did not explain myself clearly. When I set it up there was a tick box to set up my name as private listed against this blog. I think it was for a fee of 5 or 7 pounds. I set up the blog but never had to give card details for this privacy section. So not sure if my name is private ? thanks

Unless you have a custom domain name, the private name does not apply.
All you need to supply here is an email address to start a blog – and the email address is ALWAYS private and literally takes a court order for someone to get the address
The private registration applies only to custom domain names. Internet rules require all domain names to have an owner (name, address etc.) that is open to the public. Private registration puts someone between you and the public at large
