Private Domain Registration

  Hello. I registered a domain for my site, back in April, this year. I did not get the Private Registration then. Now I have realized how necessary it is, so when I tried to go and upgrade to private registration, it wouldn’t let me.

  This domain already exists and cannot be registered.

  What do I do?

  Hi I have the same problem. I only just registered however I would like my domain to be private. How do I achieve this? Thanks

  Hi there,

  In the future, if you wouldn’t mind please go to our Forum home page and start a new thread as this one is quite old.

  In the mean time however, you can go to this page:

  https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades/

  And add privacy to your domain there.

  Hello!I have exactly the same problem. I want an update only for private registration (with extra 7€) but from the link you post https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades/ it gives me the right to buy both Private Registration and Domain Registration at the same time. And it gives me this error. “This domain already exists and cannot be registered.” I want only the private registration not again the domain registration I already have one! What can I do? Thank you very much.

  In the future, could you please create a new thread for additional inquiries instead of adding on to old threads, as the original poster receives emails for each post. You can create a new thread right here:

  That said, thank you for bringing this to our attention. This looks like a bug, and we like knowing about these.

  In the mean time, you can go to your old Upgrades interface and adding the privacy on there. You can get to it by logging in to your Dashboard and going to Store >> My Upgrades and clicking on add Privacy.
