Private Domain registration removal

  Hi there, I am trying to transfer my domain to an external self-hosting provider. I followed all the steps in this article. https://wordpress.com/support/domains/transfer-domain-registration/

  However, I got an e-mail back from wordpress saying this: The request to transfer the following domain name(s) to another registrar has been denied. The domain(s) currently has Private Registration:
  myveggietravels.com
  If you still want to transfer the domain(s) to another registrar, you must first cancel your Private Registration(s).

  The help provided when I joined the wordpress support chat does not match the steps in my account, and there seems to be no way for me to turn this off? I have noted that there seems to be loads of people with the same request for this issue with no resolve other than the support team doing it behind the scenes?
