Private domain vs wordpress…I want google analytics but wordpress support too.
-
I have a blog http://meaningfulmommy.wordpress.com/ and I recently joined an affiliate network which want to be able to access my google analytics. I found that wordpress doesn’t support google analytics but I’m wondering if I buy the non wordpress domain name if then I can add it, but still have the wordpress support? I love being able to have what wordpress offers :) I just also want to be able to write reviews and need the affiliate site to be able to view my site stats for that to happen.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m obviously very new to blogging and the formats. Any input would be very helpful!
Thanks,

Correct! From the support doc:
Additional Info
Can I use Google Analytics?
No, Google Analytics cannot be used on WordPress.com blogs at this time. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-infobut I’m wondering if I buy the non wordpress domain name if then I can add it, but still have the wordpress support?
No that is not possible. Purchasing a domain changes only the URLs and nothing else. There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins like Google Analytics on a free hos5ted WordPress.com blog. If you want that then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. Here’s the comparison http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
