  when I post in my private blog, the public cannot see this at all right? Even if I don’t hit private post in my private blog

  Correct, if you make your site private, the public will be able to access the site, even if your posts are not set to private themselves.

  Private posts are used when your site is public but you want a particular post within the public site to be private
