Private posts
-
I want to use WordPress for a simple blog where all the posts would be private and only visible to registered users (my colleagues at work)
How does this work with the RSS feeds? do posts marked ‘private’ go out on the RSS feed?

I repeat again: if you are looking for privacy, a wordpress.com blog is NOT THE WAY TO GET IT. Regardless of what others may say, my experience is that posts marked “private” show up on the Dashboard crap anyway.

Yes; you can’t depend on password-protected posts not to be published in RSS, which makes them pretty much pointless. Although the bug is supposedly fixed, this feature of wordpress has always been buggy and I would not recommend its use to anyone.
Your particular needs would be better served by somewhere like livejournal, where the ‘friends-only’ system is reliable and widely used, rather than taking your chances here.

There are no known issues with password-protected posts.
Like we’ve alluded to earlier, more finer-grained access control is on the way.
