  How can my invited friends see my private posts?

  Hi! Are the posts set as private so that only administrators and editors can read them? If that is the case, then your friends would need to be given editor access to see the posts:
  https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/

  If your entire blog is private (in Settings > General) then your friends should be invited as viewers. They would each need to create their own WordPress.com accounts from your invitation. Then when they log in on their WordPress.com accounts and visit your blog, they can see the private posts. Please note: they may also need to ensure that they have permitted WordPress.com cookies as described in this guide:
