Private Registration & Domain Cancelation

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I find WordPress quite difficult to use. It is not suited to me. So I would like to cancel the private registration attached to one of my domains (asophrosynelife.com). I’ve tried going to My Upgrades and clicking on the “Cancel Private Registration” link of this domain, but I get the error “Private whois upgrade not deleted. Please contact support.” Please cancel my private registration for this domain and refund the $8 back to my account (it is still within the 30-day allowance period).

I would also like to request for two domains of mine to be canceled. They are: asyphrosynelife.com and asophrosynelife.com. I don’t use them and would like to do away with the $18 yearly fee. If it still possible for me to claim a refund, then I would like to request for it.

    Thank you,
    Shalini Baxani

WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.

Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you can request a refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard, and also request a refund and disable auto-renew there.
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

The Private Registration for asyphrosynelife.com has been successfully removed and the associated charge has been refunded:

    https://wordpress.com/me/billing

Please keep in mind that it takes 1-2 weeks for the transaction to show up on your financial statement.

Also, I’d be happy to cancel asophrosynelife.com, asyphrosynelife.com, and refund the associated charges.

Before I proceed, there are a few points I need to cover.

If we cancel your domains, it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domains, and we can’t guarantee that your domains will be available to you again, once canceled.

If you want to keep using your domains, but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel them. Instead, you can move the domains to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

For more information on using the domains elsewhere, please see:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/

Once you confirm how you’d like to proceed, I will get started processing your transaction.

Yes, please cancel the domains asophrosynelife.com and asyphrosynelife.com. I would be glad if the associated charges can be refunded.

Note that there is still private registration attached to asophrosynelife.com, which I have not been able to cancel. I get the message “Private whois upgrade not deleted. Please contact support.” Please cancel this as well so that I can get a refund for the $8.

    Thanks,
    Shalini Baxani
