Private Registration for my domain is disabled

  Hello WordPress :-)

  I recently switched my domain over to Bluehost for hosting. When I was in my setting I had turned off “Private Registration for this domain”. However when I went back to turn it on I received the message below…

  “Although you have purchased Private Registration for this domain, Private Registration is currently disabled to allow you to transfer the domain. If you don’t intend on transferring this domain to another registrar, you should re-enable Private Reg”

  Now I am not clear as to whether my Domain is private or not? Do I have to make it private with Bluehost since they host my Domain even though I purchased my Domain through WordPress? Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question. I am new to website building, hosting, and the whole process :-)

  Hi Michael,

  Please note that you have just changed the nameservers of your domain. The registration is still through us. I have enabled Private Registration as it only needs to be turned off if you are transferring out the domain registration.

  I just noticed that the domain was not confirmed so I have resent the email verification email.

  Please note that the domain registration needs to be renewed yearly through us and the hosting through Bluehost for your site to remain up.

  Hello Grace,

  Thank you for your help I verified my email address today. But on the ADMIN OPTION where it has Transfer Domain I see that “Enable Private Registration” is still visible. Will this always be there even though you have enabled Private Registration?

  For some reason it was still disabled, which is why I think you saw that. However, I have enabled it for you.
